Haiku by GILLENA COX
1
pruning shrubs
eve of Earth Day-
cirrus overpass
2
Sunday savvy –
this circle that is earth
ours to stewardship
3
smell of rain
a shiver through the trees–
sound of windchimes
4
Earth Day –
in a dawn serenade
the rain
5
wildflower –
what’s the price of heaven’s rain
to today’s damp soil
6
seeds of love planted
in soft soil of tomorrow
hope and earthworms task
7
striking beauty
a peacock ginger
blossom and leaf
8
beauty of the rain
in its quiet nourishing –
yellow ixoras
9
bird songs on the wind –
did you hear that plumeria
fall to the ground
10
Sunday savvy –
a golfer’s tees nudges
the little white ball
