Haiku by Marta Chocilowska
leaf mould
the rhinoceros beetle
goes to rest
(ESUJ_H November 2022)
a pitiless sun
the sycamore leaves
cone-shaped
(The Asahi Shimbun Nov. 18, 2022)
town under siege
the war newsman reports
that birds sing again
(The Asahi Shimbun August 5, 2022)
long rain
the great grey slugs
crawl out
(Brass Bell: a haiku journal, August 2022)
air pollution
a forgotten fragrance
of spring rain
global warming
nothing but bindweeds
and mosquitoes
poisoned river
nothing will ever be
the same
scorched earth
the tourists take selfie
in a riverbed
outer space
is our planet
still blue?
the black earth
rooks stride nodding
in the furrows
