Review On November 18, 2022, HIA (HAIKU INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION) posted a Japanese review by Mr. Yuzo Ono on the website, which appeared with the following title. haiku・つれづれ - 第20回 句集『 夜のジャスミン（Night Jasmine）』を読む 小野裕三 Part of his Review in Japanese 著者のゴラン・ガタリサ(Goran Gatalica)は、クロアチアの詩人だ。クロアチアはヨーロッパの中のかなり小さな国で、人口で400万人というから静岡県の人口より少し多いくらいの規模だ。面積も九州の1.5倍くらい。旧ユーゴスラビアが解体されてできた国でもあり、多くの国と陸上で国境を接するが、どれも同様に小国ばかり。また、クロアチアを含めたこの地域は1990年代に過酷な民族紛争を経験している。そんな国に生まれて暮らすというのは、日本で生まれて暮らす人が持つ国家や社会への感覚とはだいぶ違うのだろうな、と思う。 それが理由なのかも確かなことは言えないのだが、彼の詩の根底には、小さな場所に住んで何かに翻弄されながら感じる大きな世界、という感覚があるように思えた。その感性ゆえだろうか、かけ離れた二つのものの対照の間合いを測ることがとても巧みな句が多い。大と小、複雑と単純、動と静、思念と現実、明と暗、などの対照を作り、そこから詩性を引き出していくことに非常に長けている、という意味だ。 climate changethe wild rice bends heavyunder the blackbird気候変動真菰が重く撓う黒鳥を乗せ この句も、一行目でいきなり「気候変動」という大きなテーマをそのままの言葉で表す。それに対照されるのが、真菰の撓みや黒鳥、というどこか不吉な印象を負うイメージでもあるのだが、しかもその中で一番焦点が当たるのが「撓み」という、実体の見えにくい即物的な力だ。その単純な物理現象が、気候変動というあまりにも大きくて捉えどころのない、しかし確かに起きている複雑な物理現象と対照される。そのような対照の作り方がいかにもセンスがいいと思うし、そこでは俳句の持つ簡潔さや二物衝撃の構造がうまく活きている。 Please check out … Continue reading Book Presentation! “NIGHT JASMINE” by Goran Gatalica in Croatia (2)
